Mrs. Jean McKnight, age 75, of Alligator, MS passed away May 17, 2013. She was a member of Rena Lara Baptist Church and Clarksdale Eastern Star. Mrs. McKnight, a secretary for Dr. Gates Veterinary Clinic, is survived by her husband Mr. Carroll Wayne McKnight and her daughters Carol Sue Moore of Clarksdale, MS; Debbie (Mike) Mooneyham of Cleveland, MS and Connie McKnight of Alligator, MS; a sister Pat Wilson of Fancy Farm, KY and a brother Tommy Kester of Maryland. She also leaves seven grandchildren Grant Moore of Senatobia, MS; Michael Mooneyham of Cleveland, MS; Laura Jones of Biloxi, MS; Allen McKnight of Ridgeland, MS; Caroline McKnight of Alligator, MS; Dustin Moore of Jackson, MS; Christopher Moore of Clarksdale, MS and a Great Grandchild Wesley Moore of Senatobia, MS. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. at with the service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at National Funeral Home-Clarksdale, MS. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens in Clarksdale, MS. Memorial Contributions may be made to Rena Lara Baptist Church.

Harmon Wilford Cox, Sr., 94, passed away on May 9, 2013 at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be 10am-11am Saturday at Clarksdale Baptist Church. Services will be 11am Saturday at Clarksdale Baptist Church with burial at Oakridge Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.
Mr. Cox was a native of Enid, MS and had lived in Clarksdale since serving in the U. S. Army on the European Front under General George Patton. He received the Bronze Star, The American Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the EAMETO Medal.
Mr. Cox was a life insurance salesman for over 35 years. He was a member of Clarksdale Baptist Church where he formerly served as Deacon.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his first wife, Johnnie Brown Cox in 1981 and his son Harmon W. Cox, Jr. in 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marjorie Jennings Cox of Clarksdale; daughter, Barbara McDonnell (Fred) of Hazlehurst; son, Raymond Cox (Carrie) of Oxford; step-sons, Bruce Jennings (Susie) of Waveland and Ray Jennings (Tina) of Covington, LA; step-daughter, Nina Smith (Bradley) of Wesson; sister, Thelma Skeahan of Mountain Brook, AL; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Cathy Jean Myles Roach, 60, a Retired Office Secretary for Kirkpatrick School, died Monday May 6, 2013 at home. Visitation is Thursday May 9, 2013, 2-4 P.M. at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services are 4:00 P.M. Thursday May 9, 2013 at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS. with burial in the Memorial Gardens. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS. is handling the arrangements.
She was a graduate of Clarksdale High School and a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church.
Survivors include: husband of 44 years Eddie Roach of Dublin, MS.; 2 sons Brian Roach (Callie) of Sumner, MS. and Kevin Roach (Dannie Marie); daughter Sandy Fava; brother Anthony Myles; sister Patty Lutts, all of Clarksdale, MS.; 4 granddaughters, Myles Fava, Alex Fava, Sydney Fava and Laney Roach.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Jean Jaco Myles.
